- 1 Bay leaf (taiz pta)
- 2 Cinnamon sticks (darchini)

- 3-4 Tomato (tamatar) chopped
- 5-6 Cloves (long)
- 2 Black cardamom (bari Elaichi)
- 1 tbs Ginger garlic (adrak+ lehson)paste
- 1 & Half tsp or to taste Salt (namak)
- 1 & half tsp or to taste Red chilli powder (lal mirch)
- Half tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi powder)
- 1/2 cup whisked yogurt (dahi)
- 2-3 Potatoes (aalo)large (half boiled) -
- 3 &1/2 cup or as needed Water (pani)
- 500 gms (soaked for 30 mins Rice (chawal)
- 3-4 Green chilies (sabz mirch)
- 1/4 cup Fresh coriander(zabz dhania)
- 1 tsp Whole Species (garam masala)
- 1/2 tspNutmeg & mace powder (jaifil jaivitri powder)
Instructions to make to make Potato Tahari (Aalo pulao)
- In pot, add oil and onion,saute little. -Add bay leaf,cinnamom stick,black pepper corns,cumin,cloves and black cardamom,saute mix it.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute well.
- Add tomatoes and give it a good mix. Add salt,red chilli powder and turmeric powder,mix it -Now add yogurt and mix well.
- Add potatoes (half boiled) and green peas (half boiled),mix it and add water,bring it to boil.
- Add rice (soaked for 35-45 mins),mix it and cook on high flame until water dries up. -Add green chilies,fresh coriander,whole spice powder,nutmeg & mace powder,
- Cover and simmer for 15minutes. Now Serve with mint chutney & Salad
